so i guess after going on a kung fu movie marathon, gesture and pose sketches are what i do.

what i want to be when i grow up

warm up paint/sketch of the day: super generic elf assassin! haven't really done anything that's been from my very inner nerd in a while, but it was mostly about the painting and lighting be this time around.

cool down from tonight. looked at dermot power's website and decided 'hey, let's learn how to paint'. while doing the pencils, i started thinking about the movie 'valhalla rising' and when i ought to try and watch it again. evidently, i have a thing for mads mikkelsen and norsemen.

high priestess character concept

i had a dream about rectangles and i had the desire to design some kind of clothing that was really rectangle heavy, paneled and all that. it turned into a character concept for a high priestess specializing in healing arts as dictated by her outer veil's blue stripes. I have a whole thing about how people would rise up in the ranks in the temple and what colors and patterns would signify what specialty they are, but i'm too tired to get into it here, hahaha!
