sketch from today

just a sketch i did today in my sketchbook that i really liked and took to photoshop for some experimenting.

gunz...continued!

my final development pass at my RoboCop gun redesign and i think i'm going to run with model 2

gunz...

who needs 'em? RoboCop sure as hell does!

my progress so far on my Product Design final assignment: redesigning a prop from a movie released in your year of birth. lucky me, RoboCop's gun didn't quite hack it for me, so this is my take on it thus far.

what i do

sketch done in class, trying to exercise more calculated decision making for values and where they belonged by using a brush where i didn't have anything adjusted to it except for its flow.

also a precursor to exercising how to retain the graphic nature of the major players of your image's forms so that important things read clearly. sweet steps tonight :)

color tests

some color tests for my advanced digital painting production shot. more textural detail will be painted when the colors have been decided on.

on that note, all hail the overlay layer mode in photoshop.

EDIT: another pass at some color tests. just trying to get a bit more zany with it :p

product design, project 1: echo-tech

the main idea for this concept was to provide a way in which visually impaired people can interact with the objects of their environment without bumping into them. with neural impulse transmission directly to the lateral geniculate nucleus, this completely bypasses any visual information that would have been sent otherwise from the retinas and optic nerves, the areas that have a higher percentage of causing visual impairment.

my echo locator visual aid concept for my product design class:

it also promotes a less sedentary lifestyle, both physically and emotionally, as it needs its wearer to move around to power it.
